Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

The Stories of Others

When was the last time you listened to the stories of others?
Question put to the sick by a Native American Medicine Man

God
It is Monday morning
and I am entering another week

a week in which I will meet many people
all kinds of people

happy people, and people who are sad
those who are hurting
and those who smile broadly with joy
those who know who they are
and those with questions in their eyes

this week I will meet many people
all will be a gift

but only if I listen to their stories

it is hard to listen to the stories of others
if I am overwhelmed with my own stories
if I am listening to a cacophony in my own head

Lord, I need to listen to my own stories
they have their place
but Lord
fill me with your Spirit
your love
your peace

that
I might listen to the stories of others
They are the gift of life
and healing
to me
