Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Lent 14 - Spring

So today is the first day of Spring!
Really?
It is 26 degrees out
The ground is brown with remnants of white dirty snow
still holding on tight
winter’s desperate attempt to hold on to the earth

snow is in the forecast
and in the shadow of the big pines, nothing has dared poke its head through
the still frozen earth

and yet
and yet
change comes
spring inexorably emerges
slowly perhaps
but infallibly

the dark and frozen times
never win
winter always passes

summer comes
then fall
then winter again
but ah
spring

so too life
there are moments of bright new energy
moments of comfort
moments of decline
and moments when we feel overwhelmed
by the darkness

we feel as if the frozen, barren days will never pass
but always
there is spring

that moment when the sun
rises
when hope and love
push their ways through the frozen landscape of our souls
and life
springs forth again
