Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Reflected Light, Reflected Love

“The thing about light is that it really isn’t yours; it’s what you gather and shine back. And it gets more power from reflectiveness; if you sit still and take it in, it fills your cup, and then you can give it off yourself.”
― Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies: Some Thoughts on Faith

It is not just a matter of shining
this being the light of the world

it is not just a matter of willing ourselves
into love and compassion
generosity and forgiveness

flame can consume
light devour

if we constantly seek radiance
eventually what burns so brightly
will flicker and fade

we must feed the fire
we must nurture the soul

if the light of the world does not flow into us
it cannot flow out of us

so being light involves
times of absorbing
moments when we simple bask
in the warmth of Sacred Love
and soak in
that which we need

we need walks in the woods
the magic of music
the beauty of human touch
we need to gather
in the luminosity
of the Sacred Child

we cannot give
what we have not received
but we can be
reflected
light

Come, O Sacred Child
Come
Shine through me
