I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

What about anger?
“Let the flame of anger free you of all falsity.”
― John O'Donohue

Anger can make us real
burning away all the pretentions
of generosity and love
when we are angry we see with different eyes
and we interpret everything through the lens
of that anger
we lose our ability to think clearly
to reason
we lose our balance and
topple into irrationality and judgment
everything becomes distorted
even people
who frail and frightened
just like us
become twisted caricatures
of themselves
hateful and troll like
beyond compassion
anger brings out our worst
and consumes our divine identity with is fire
but
no path is inevitable
and with anger can come transformation
for in anger we can no longer hide from ourselves
as we see our own twisted visages
and face our culpability
our own descent
into the region of distortion and rage
we can awaken
to that which is Sacred in us
and we can choose
yes we can choose
the light rather than the darkness
We can choose compassion rather than coldness
Acceptance rather than rejection
Truth rather than distortion
we can free ourselves of any vestiges
of self-righteousness and exceptionalism
and become honest to God
and honest with ourselves
for in such honesty is born
healing
and restoration
and reconciliation
