what the world needs!

plenty of people are willing to tell us what the world needs

it needs leadership

it needs strength and power

it needs someone willing to be aggressive

and assert his or her will

and impose his or her agenda

on the willing and the unwilling

it needs right ideology,

right theology,

it needs morality (my version of course)

ah, but we’ve tried all that haven’t we!

How has that been working?

What the world needs

is not people who give pretty speeches

or ugly speech

it does not need people who can whip crowds in to a frenzy

or make a deal

it needs people who can see others

feel for others

connect with others at the level of authenticity

listen to others

it needs someone for whom the faceless masses

become a sea of faces

it needs someone who sees past it all

to those precious souls

who make up the world

who like the one from Galilee

can see those

who most need

to be

seen

and offer
