Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Keys to leadership

“The three jewels of Tao: compassion, moderation, and humility. Balthasar said compassion leads to courage, moderation leads to generosity, and humility leads to leadership.”

What does it take
to touch the world for love, for justice, for peace

A little moderation is nice
Not easy
But nice
Personally, but a bag of chips and front of me
A jar of peanuts
And it’s gone, just gone

Nothing left to share, should someone wander into my space
But I get it… if I don’t use it all up, there is something left to give
If I don’t have to hug everything to myself, there is an opportunity to share
If I don’t horde, generosity is a possibility

Courage!?
Do I have it?  Do you?
I suppose there are many kinds of courage
The courage to speak
The courage to be silent

Sometimes one has to just “say it”
But sometimes, it takes a lot of courage not to say the thing that would vindicate oneself
Or build oneself up
Because it is the kind, the right thing to do

Humility
Ah, humility
Not thinking of oneself more highly than one should
But not thinking of oneself less highly either

Overestimating one’s importance is damaging
As it is the need to build one’s ego up
The need to brag, and bluster, threaten, lie, and so much more
Often while tearing others down

Underestimating is as well, believing that every insult, every slight is about you.
Low self esteem may be another form of arrogance.  Think one should be more important
than one is (yes its complicated)

But this I believe
If we have moderation, courage and humility
We are in a place where we can truly lead

If we are a person of extremes, if we hide behind lies and
Live in a reality of our own making, because we can’t handle the truth,
If we are arrogant, or self-absorbed in any way?

We can’t lead
At least not consistently

Instead we drive, push, coerce, abuse

We could use a little leadership right now.
