Broken Open, Poured Out

How do it make it right?

When I am afraid,

When I am angry,

When I am hurt?

How do I deal with all that is wrong?

An eye for and eye

A tooth for a tooth

The redemption of violence?

The suffering One (Isaiah 53)

took the worst

the 

world 

could give

betrayal

hate

torture

rejection

and ultimately a 

terrible death of suffocation

hanging

how did the Sacred One

respond?

"Forgive them"

"Today you will be in paradise"

in eucharist

we celebrate

redemptive suffering

we celebrate

the power

of being broken open

and poured out

what do we do with our

Eucharistic,

redeemed life?

we are called

to take that life

break it

give it away

pass it around

when we eat

The Meal

we agree that our lives are not our own

but participate

in the One

and that we
