“Sometimes I need
only to stand
wherever I am
to be blessed.”
― Mary Oliver

I stand in the road
my mind swirls with all that must be done
and undone
the wind blows
and the clouds race
seeking the far horizon
junipers sway
their berries subtly nesting
among the dusky branches
I need to move
to go somewhere
any where
so much to do
so little time
and then I look down
and there in the fading sunlight
the first buttercup of spring
and so I stand
where I am
and all creation comes to me
