Mountains (as metaphor)

SO TOO FAITH

once buried in the earth
then thrust from the earth
raw and beautiful

they stand unmoving
unyielding granite
eternal sentinels

the wind dances around the heights
as sun kissed
moon haunted

they gather the tears of God
silken white
brilliant silver

nursing and embracing
this treasure
then releasing,

sending it joyfully
singing through
the rocks

rushing, winding

into quiet
desperate
fields
