“We seldom notice how each day is a holy place Where the Eucharist
of the ordinary happens, Transforming our broken fragments Into an eternal
continuity that keeps us.”
― John O'Donohue, To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of
Invocations and Blessings
____________________________
The Sacred is woven
into the fabric of this world
it is inseparable
from even the most common moments
it is the common thread
that pulls our lives together
our moments together
making everything holy
every thing a sacrament
a eucharist
in the Eucharist we consume the Sacred*
we open ourselves up to Sacred Presence
We take it in, we taste it, savor it
Sometimes, perhaps,
We have to chew on it for a while
Sometimes it is hard to swallow
But as we make it part of ourselves
We begin to live it
We begin to live God
Each act becomes endowed
With meaning
That word spoken
That kindness given
All of life becomes, a celebration
Of Sacred love
And our scattered and fragmented souls
Are transformed
