How do we “undo” the world?

How do we take this creation

Created in love

By One who is love

And unravel it,

Destroy it?

We can do it, you know,

One person at a time?

All we have to do is fail to see people

People in need

People who are hurting

People who are alone

People who are afraid…

All we have to do is fail to see the person in front of us

Perhaps because all we can see is our self

And do nothing

For them

When we vote for “us” and forget them

We worry only about what will make us richer and more powerful

But ignore the impact on others

When we hug our resources to ourselves

And fail to give to those who have nothing

It is not only our undoing ultimately

As a person

But our undoing as a nation

Our undoing as a world

We are designed

To help each other.
