Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Be not afraid

I think we are frightened every

Moment of our lives

Until we

Know

Sacred

          Hafiz ala Ladinsky

Fear

It crouches waiting

Like my barn cat

Ready

To pounce

Another headline

More abuses

Children zip tied, standing in their underwear

Shivering in the street

A deluge of lies

Malign people

With

Power

It springs from seemingly

Nowhere

And I am in its jaws

Being torn apart

Some mornings I can barely breathe

My stomach roils

My mind is in chaos

As if a hundred pundits

Are screaming at me

Be afraid!

Evil is winning, love is losing

The planet is burning

Foul people are abusing the innocent and vulnerable

There is no hope

But amidst the chaos

That still, small voice

Remember

Remember how I, with a mighty hand

Delivered

Remember how I, by giving myself totally

Delivered

Remember how death was turned to life

Hate to love

Fear to hope

Evil has its day

It comes like falling rain

Soaking the earth

Drowning our souls

Vicious unfeeling ones

Batter the good

Iniquity piles up

Until we cannot see the good

The noise of hate grows until

The cries of the oppressed are no longer heard

And yet

We know God

We feel God in our bones

And God says

Be not afraid

Live

Live life with joy

And hope

With generosity

And kindness

I am here

And remember

What I can do

With and through

You
