I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Everyone wins
The Gospel, truly interpreted, wants everybody to win, to
live in a world of freedom and joy. There is an alternative to our consumer,
commodity, market mentality. We might call it the personal, relational, or
being mode. It is a worldview in which all of us can succeed on some real
level. It isn’t a win/lose model where only a few win and most lose. It’s a
win/win worldview, but only if we’re willing to let go of our need to be the
primary or exclusive winner. The trouble with the dominance of the competitive
model is that it needs lots of losers so that one can be declared the
best. Maybe this is good for the market,
but it is bad for the soul.

It is insidious O Sacred One
How easily it happens
Without even noticing it
Suddenly there we are
Seeking power, position, acclaim, money
How quick we are to do what we must
To win
Which usually means
Someone loses
Them, they
I win, you lose
We win, they lose
We do not even notice Beloved
How our souls wither
O Sacred One
May your presence roar within our souls
Transforming
Transfiguring
So that we no longer accept the idea
That win/lose is an acceptable model
But can think only in terms of win/win
Knowing that every soul is precious
