we look for the answers to

our emptiness

our loneliness

our fear

outside

in politicians who promise us everything

in other people, whom we hope will ease the ache within

in accomplishments

and we are still empty

and lonely

and afraid

but in the silence

in the quiet

when we are left alone

with nothing

with no one

except ourselves

we find within

the Sacred Presence

we find with

the love and acceptance we need

it was there

all

along
