Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Bending history

“Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
                                                           Robert F. Kennedy

In a time like this
When those with the most power
Refuse to stand up for justice
Refuse to act with true compassion
Neglect the vulnerable
And Support and even enable racism, hate and greed

It is difficult to believe
That we can bend history
Difficult to believe, that I, an aging, tired
Small church pastor in a remote corner of Oregon

Can do anything about the pervasive injustice that
 Permeates our land

But that does not mean that I don’t try
There are words to be spoken
Words to be written
There are actions to be taken

No, I probably will never influence a congress person
But I can listen
I can care
I can encourage, and forgive
I can be generous

The ripples I make are so small
So very small
But if you make your own ripples

Perhaps together…..

perhaps
