I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Till they have faces
Haiku Thursday
"Empathy is really the opposite of spiritual meanness.
It's the capacity to understand that every war is both won and lost. And that
someone else's pain is as meaningful as your own.”
― Barbara Kingsolver

I see my foe’s face
It is a face much like mine
The pain and hope are so real

when we give those we disagree with
fear
dislike
perhaps even hate
faces
when we see them has humans
with all the feelings we have
all the fear
and hope
and pain and joy
when we recognize our unity
our common reality
as carriers of the sacred
things change
and we can no longer dehumanize them
and turn them into
grotesque caricatures
they become
real
