Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

A lifetime

“the tired sunsets and the tired
people -
it takes a lifetime to die and
no time at
all.”
― Charles Bukowski
_______________________________________

It takes a lifetime to die
the fabric of our souls
eaten away
by ravenous things
which gnaw and tear

anger and fear
hateful people
tasks which go on forever
and never yield a harvest

politicians who yammer
commentators who spout their particular brand
of ideological poison

and sometimes
death comes quickly and unexpected
or quickly and expected
in the blink of an eye

but each morning
as we put our feet on the sustaining ground
we have a chance to live

and life can be found
in the sunrise
in the sound of rain on the leaves
in the caress of the wind
or the smile of a friend

each fresh sunrise brings with it
a day to be lived
one moment at a time

fully
with eyes, and ears
with mind and heart and soul
wide
open
