Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

a human heart in need

I carry gifts today from the kings of fish, beasts,
birds, and angels.  I carry gifts today from rivers,
seas, fields, star, and from every soul, from
every soul that will ever be

God, let us know what you first saw that made
You want to do this, create a human heart so in need

Let us know, Beloved, that there is only Light.

I spent this day with precious souls
old souls
young souls
energetic souls
and tired ones

hopeful ones
and one’s not quite so quite so
expectant about what the road ahead
might bring

there were liberal folk
and conservative ones too

we carried into a Sacred space
each one of us

a plethora
of thoughts and feels

we carried with us faith
not the same faith exactly

for there are indeed varieties of
religious experience

in as we gathered
pain flowed
so did joy

together we sought
the Presence
together we received
the gift of Light

and together we learned
that the way it happens

this miracle of communion
is by having soft hearts
vulnerable hearts
hearts in need

hard hearts won’t work
don’t work

because we are made
to open
permeable
holey

perhaps even leaky?

we are made
so that all that is Sacred
can get in

and all that is Sacred
call it Light
call it Love

can flow out

to those around us
touching them
while they

with their own soft
and sometimes broken hearts

touch us

and in all of that it happens
healing
generosity
kindness
love

and I think
I really do
this is what God had in mind
