I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

The Work of Prayer
“the real "work" of prayer is to become silent and
listen to the voice that says good things about me.
To gently push aside and silence the many voices that
question my goodness and to trust that I will hear the voice of blessing-- that
demands real effort. ”
Henri J.M. Nouwen, Life of the Beloved:
Spiritual Living in a Secular World

We are often told that we need to
Stop, Breathe, and Listen
Listen to the heart
Listen to the soul
Listen to
God
Many assume listening involves
Instruction
Challenge, and
Rebuke
Get up!
Get going!
Do this!
Stop doing that !
But in fact
Quite often
The small still voice at the center of our soul
Says simply
I love you
