Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

A little kindness

“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”
― Dalai Lama XIV

It is easy these days
Not to be kind

The air is filled with free floating anger
Which falls like blizzard flakes
Obscuring the humanity of those around us

Giving them a vagueness
Making them a caricature
Something somehow
Not fully human

There is fear too
Adding to the wintry mix in our souls
Covering all with ice
So we cannot find our balance
We an insecure, staggering through each day

And thus our focus
Turns to ourselves
Our survival
Our welfare

And those vague forms become
Evil
Dangerous
Lazy

And we do not care
We do not care that they are there

But God is kind
And warms our hearts, if we allow
And we can be kind too
And there is a warmth that can come

In this deep winter
And we can
If we want
