I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Getting to "yes"
“People often ask me how long they should pray, and I say,
‘As long as it takes you to get to yes.’”

What does it mean to be “spiritual”
Once upon a time a man named Nicodemus asked that question (essentially)
Of a man named Jesus
Jesus told him “you must be born from above” (accept the Sacred Presence)
Nicodemus was literal sort of guy
And heard “born again” (another possible interpretation of
the word “anothen”)
They went round in circles
Nicodemus trying to stay inside the box
All neat and literal
Oh so clean
But oh so ludicrous, a grown man in his mothers belly?
Jesus gently kept talking about the wild wind of the Spirit
Blowing people of faith where it will
In the end Jesus message was this:
Focus on the Sacred, as one who seeks to be open and
receptive
Stay focused as the connection is made
Stay focused on the Sacred
Until everything inside you says “yes”
Yes to God
Yes to love
Yes to forgiveness
Yes to compassion
Yes to generosity
Yes, yes, yes!
At that moment of “yes”, you are born from above
