I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Good for them, good for us
“We have lived our lives by the assumption that what was
good for us would be good for the world. We have been wrong. We must change our
lives so that it will be possible to live by the contrary assumption, that what
is good for the world will be good for us. And that requires that we make the
effort to know the world and learn what is good for it.”
― Wendell Berry, The Long-Legged House
______________________________________________
we live in a world where essential selfishness is endemic
its all about me (or my country, or…)
and we think
oddly
that thinking only of ourselves
will keep us safe
make us prosperous
give us joy
but we cannot be at peace
at the cost of oppression
we cannot enjoy wealth
if people around us are hungry
if the cost of our joy
is pain or suffering for others
then our joy cannot last
we must look
we must listen
we must seek the common good
(what a foolish thought, according to some)
we must leave no one behind
grace is for all
the kingdom of Heaven
is about the redemption of all creation
blessed be
