I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

The sun rising over the Devils
Casting its gold among the trees
That is beauty
The bright blue of an Oregon sky
On a spring day!
That is beauty
The smile of a child
The smooth white, gold, brown, black, olive skin of youth
That is beauty
Eyes that sparkle with life and joy
That is beauty
So too
The face of one who is dealing with cancer
Where compassion and love still live
So too
The face of one who has dealt with loss
A death, a failure
Where hope and acceptance still appear
Some beauty doesn’t just happen
It is made
Forged out of life
It is found in wrinkles
and tears
in gnarled hands
in bodies deformed by cancer, and accident, and age
it is found in hard earned wisdom
and in compassion and patience
and we know it
when we see it
