I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Generosity
“The next time you want to withhold your help, or your love,
or your support for another for whatever the reason, ask yourself a simple
question: do the reasons you want to withhold it reflect more on them or on
you? And which reasons do you want defining you forevermore?”

I see it everyday
the person with power and wealth
finding an excuse to shame another
you are poor, it’s your fault
you are sick, it’s your fault
so “suck it up”
“deal with it”
“why should a 62 year old man pay for maternity care for a
28 year old woman”
I also see people
Average people
Conservative people and liberal people
Those just limping along
Doing amazing acts of generosity
They see a neighbor in need,
And no questions are asked
Food is given
Clothes are shared
Money exchanges hands
The one who is struggling gets support
And love
And help
Why would someone who has enough
Fail to share it with someone in need
Why does the person who has barely enough
Find discover the gift of generosity
Perhaps power and wealth do something ugly
To our souls
Sadly we rarely see the generous soul
Be sadly too, we will long remember the 1%
And all those small people who lounge in the seat of power
We will forever define them, as the people
With small souls
Here is to all the lazy moochers
With big hearts
