I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

no one left behind
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that
we belong to each other.”
Mother Teresa

“it is good for business”
“it will make us safe”
“it will make us great”
Not bad statements really, but
It depends what you mean by them
For there is an essential selfishness that lives in each of
us
And dominates some of us some of the time
And dominates other most of the time
And may dominate some
All of the time
It is a selfishness which allows us to
Seek wealth
And safety
And power
In ways that ignore all too many others
People who are poor,
Or sick
Or a different color
Or a different faith
They just don’t matter
If what I am doing benefits me
History is littered with the broken bodies
Broken hearts
And broken souls
Of people who have been used and abuse in the search
For wealth
And safety
And power
There was one who showed us that we cannot pursue these
things
And leave others behind
We just can’t
His name was Jesus
And he ignored wealth, because he was all about people
He certainly did not know how to stay safe
As to power?
He ended up with all the power of God
By not seeking it
Not for himself
But by giving himself
So that all would know
They are not outside the circle of Sacred love
As long as selfishness rule
We will be at war
For when selfishness rules
Someone must lose, and someone must win
It is only when we all seek
To get there together
That peace comes
No child
No woman
No person left behind
