I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

The way out
We are all of us marred and scarred and imperfect. We make
mistakes. We do things we deeply regret. We are tempted and sometimes we give
into that temptation. Not because we are bad or weak but because we are human.
We are a crowd of faults. But know this… There is always a road back. If we
have the courage to look for it and to take it. I'm sorry. I was wrong. I don't
know. I need help. These are the signposts. The cardinal directions.
From
“A Great Reckoning” by Louise Penny
______________________________
we are human
make no mistake about it
we are those who know both good and evil
and participate in both
“Evil is unspectacular and always human,
And shares our bed and eats at our own table,
And we are introduced to Goodness every day.
Even in drawing-rooms among a crowd of faults” (WH Auden)
There are times
Too many times, when we want to give up
Not on life, or others
But on ourselves
We believe we are too far gone
Too much time has past
Our faults, our errors are simply
Too great
But there is always a way back
The way is not likely to be easy
It might well be painful
It might involve being humbled
Even humiliated
It will often mean we will hear words we don’t want to hear
And come to know things we wish we didn’t know
About life, others
But mostly, ourselves
But we are Sacred Children
We carry Divine DNA
We are call to carry the image of the Sacred
which for some of us, means we feel called to carry the
image of Christ
Which means, for some of us, that we are called to carry a
cross
Which simply means that we are called to carry pain and hurt
To pick it up
Our pain
Our hurt
But also that of others
We are called to pick it up…
But then follow
Follow the way of love
Of compassion, generosity, welcome, acceptance, humility, kindness
“I'm sorry. I was wrong. I don't know. I need help”
“I hear you” “I
care” “I am here”
For that is
The way out
