Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

lifting others up

"I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes, this makes planning the day difficult. —E. B. White"

_______________________________________________________

I’m conflicted
I admit it

Sometimes I just want to have fun
I want to engage in life playfully, and not worry about a thing

But then
There is that Mennonite heritage
Which says you must contribute
You must make a difference

In this dualistic world in which we live
Those are not easy value sets to wed

Life is difficult
Evil lives in high places
People are willfully ignorant
Nurturing their dark angels for the gods of power and wealth

There is so much to do
And so one grabs moments
A walk under the mountain
An adventure in a new place
A touch of music here
A good book there

And then one descends into the region of “ooze and slime and old decay” (CS Lewis)
To do the work of lifting others up (and one’s self as well)
Into the region of light

Where love lives
Where people care
Where healing happens
