Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Love came down

I once asked a bird,
how is that you fly
in this gravity of darkness?
The bird responded,
" LOVE LIFTS ME " !

Dig beneath all the trappings and traditions
Look behind all the frantic activity, the unrealistic expectations

Calm your heart
And lay aside for the moment all
The emotion of the season

The joy, the pain, the grief, the intimacy

And there is only one thing that counts

Love came down, down, down
Down into the darkness of oppression
Down into injustice, and racism and greed
Down into fear and hate

Down, down, down
Through all the layers of inhumanity
To that deepest place

To be
Present
Loving
Transforming

Love came down
To be with us
But more, to lift us up

Not out of this world
Not into the clouds
Not up into the heavens

But into new ways of loving and living
We are not lifted out of the darkness
As much as we become different people in the darkness
People who shine with the light of love

Not dispelling the darkness
But helping us find our way through it
Love came down
And we were given newness

We were shown how to live
And how it looks when Sacred permeates our lives

Love came down
And when Love was lifted up, so many years later
Lifted up in pain, yes
But also lifted up in triumph

We were given the promise
That someday we
Someday all creation
We find its way to love
Someday
