Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Lent 32 - around each corner

“No man can order his life, for it comes flowing over him from behind. But if it lay before us, and we could watch its current approaching from a long distance, what could we do with it before it had reached the now? In like wise a man thinks foolishly who imagines he could have done this and that with his own character and development, if he had but known this and that in time.”
― George MacDonald

in the early morning
light blinding intensity
makes the way forward
vague

the river winding
reflecting back the glory of the sun
and cliffs
looming
allow no option
but advance or retreat

each bend in the river
conceals
and then reveals
its secrets

progress thought hidden
is real

surprise gives way to surprise
each new vista
suddenly exposed
becomes the world
and then is left behind
replaced by
the new
amazing
different

and yet merely a moment
on the way
to what is next

life
