I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

On being, enough
Who you are in God is who you are….
Who you are is God is a beloved daughter or a
beloved son;
you are no longer dependent on culture’s or even
your own estimation
Richard
Rohr

I’m not enough
he says
I’m worthless
she says
a parade of lost souls
wander the halls of healing places
churches
mental health centers
medical clinics
and in so many heads the words echo
“I don’t measure up”
“I am flawed”
“I can’t do it”
it is an epidemic
zombie brains
zombie hearts
zombie souls
crushed and slain
by parents who literally told them
through word and deed
that they were slime
killed by a society
which values only the 2%
and finds the rest wanting
buried beneath the earth of shame
and guilt piled on by the church
and yet
and yet all our lives are hidden in God (Colossians
3:3b)
the one who made us
created us out of the fabric of sacred self
declares that we are
children
beloved
full of grace and truth
we are who we were
in God
before we
drew our first breath
and who we will be in God
when we draw our last breath
