Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

God is Sneaky Like That

“The multiplicity of forms! The hummingbird, the fox, the raven, the sparrow hawk, the otter, the dragonfly, the water lily! And on and on. It must be a great disappointment to God if we are not dazzled at least ten times a day.”
                                                                ― Mary Oliver

people
people
people

more people
rushing hurrying
eyes down

not seeing
not feeling
hit and run drivers
careening down the sidewalk

and yet
even in this place
God dazzles

the beauty of a frozen puddle
the stark outline of a tree etched against the sky
a statue of Gandhi
the smile of a new friend
laughter echoing through a room

God is sneaky like that
