becoming people who are

so profoundly wounded, emotionally, physically, mentally

that they seek relief

any way they can find it

through food

or drink

or sex

or???

how do we turn Gold into

Lead?

let us remember the often hidden damage

that lies behind the surface of those who struggle

to find sobriety

to be in a relationship that is not twisted

to be functional in a job

let us remember

and have compassion

for all the damaged children

no matter what age

they happen to

be
