I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Original Blessing
In spite of the ecological unity of all creation,
Christianity too often began by emphasizing a problem ("original
sin") instead of beginning with the wonderful unity between creation and
Creator (original blessing), which we called "Christ" or the Primal Anointing
of all things.

In the beginning
God created
and it was very good
humans were part of that creation
the creator does good work
and we are
fearfully and wonderfully made
and we are fearfully and wonderfully
loved
so why is religion so quick
to tell us we
are crap
that the Sacred
whatever name we use
can hardly wait to judge and punish
like an out of control abusive parent
do we err?
yes!
is an awareness of what doesn’t work in our lives
important?
absolutely
for our “sin”
if we want to call it that
fractures our souls
and the souls of others
and some would say that God uses
shock and awe to draw those
who might otherwise wander
back into obedience
back to Sacred
but I suspect
that religions use the fear of wrath and punishment
not to heal and restore
not to bring peace and wholeness
but as a way to exercise power and control
as a way to command obedience
and amass money
even for purposes
political
the Sacred has better options
better ways to draw people
our of their fractured lives
into sacred embrace
better ways to repair the deep wounds
and create wholeness
the Sacred can draw us
through the amazing power of love
and acceptance
and forgiveness
into wonderful
original
blessing
