Life can be a litany of trial
we are beset from many sides
by many things
anger
hate
fear
anxiety
exhaustion
our angst comes from outside our selves
jobs, the economy
rejection
abandonment
abuse
our pain comes from inside ourselves
failure
addiction
a mind full of chaos and torment
but in the midst of all that besieges us
in the midst of the perfect storm
that sometimes seems like
it will simply be
too
much
comes this reality
it is THE reality of spirituality
a light burns
without a flicker
in the depths
the presence of the sacred
is present
without question
in the depths
if we learn nothing else spiritually
we must learn this
to go deep
deeper
deeper still
to our center, our core
our heart
our soul
(call it what you will, it doesn’t matter)
go deep
and find that which burns within
dwells within
find that in which you participate
that one to whom you are infallibly connected
