Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

This thing called Love

“Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy. That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business. What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy.”
― Thomas Merton

Ah love
Erotic (eros)
wild
and sometimes fun
raging hormones
and romanticized idealism

the love of valentines day
celebrated with chocolate and flowers
with cards (that often make you a little bit ill)

a love that is powerful
amazing
and, alas
which comes and goes
ebbs and flows

fickle

ah love
friendship (phileo)
a bond forged
by time and presence
by common values and beliefs
and interests

a tough love that often
perhaps usually
can survive both time and absence
and sometime difference profound

but sometimes not

ah love
our love
for parent and child
grandchild

that natural bond
mysterious
real
and profound

ah love
the love of family
friends
and yes, that person who makes our heart pound

but ah love (agape)
love that comes from deep within
from the furthest reaches of our soul
where we are loved
with a love that will not let us go

a love
that does not love the other
because they are wonderful
or beautiful
because they think like us, look like us,
or act like us
or carry our DNA

a love that sees the other
as beautiful
and wonderful
exciting and amazing

because they are love

a love does not seek value
but creates value
in the object of that love

God’s love
sacred love

we have it
let’s give it

Sacred love renders us worthy
let us spread
a little worthiness
around
