I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Seeing the World Differently
There is no authentic God experience that does not situate
you in the world in a very different way. After an encounter with True Presence
you see things quite differently, and it gives you freedom from your usual
loyalties and low-level payoffs--the system that gave you your security, your
status, your economics, and your very identity

experience the Sacred
the world changes
is it that the skies are bluer?
the mountains higher?
does one suddenly see God
in an eagle on the wing?
perhaps
but it is more likely that things which would once devastate
lose their power
and things that were once so significant
become a matter of indifference
it is more likely that we see things we never saw before
beautiful things, yes
but also painful things
such as injustice and poverty,
or simply relate to life differently,
our relationship with wealth altered
as too our relationship with pain
oddly,
we are less comfortable with the world,
and more comfortable
we are people fully in this creation
yet also connected, profoundly
to that behind, beneath, above
all that we see
it feels as if we have one foot in heaven
and yet
in truth
we may have both feet firmly on earth
for the first time
