Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

I need the Spirit

Effortlessly,
Love flows from God into [humans]
Like a bird
Who rivers the air
Without moving her wings.
. . . Thus we move in [God’s] world
One in body and soul, . . .
Though outwardly separate in form.
As the Source strikes the note,
Humanity sings—
The Holy Spirit is our harpist,
And all strings
Which are touched in Love
Must sound.
Mechthild of Magdeburg

God is the vine
We are the branches

We are the clothes
The Holy Spirit wears

The Spirit blows
It roars
It flows
It springs up

And it becomes the all embracing presence
It is implanted hope

And it restores us
From the inside out

The Holy Spirit everywhere
It is in everything
In sun and moon
Sky and land
River and mountain

It sings in the wind
Rushing through the trees
It roars in the snow fat creeks

And the Holy Spirit
The Sacred is in us
Somewhere
Deep down at the center of who we are

Binding us to, everything

It has been said we are not a drop in the ocean
But the entire ocean in one drop

We are not a small piece of Sacred
We are all of the Sacred in one person

And The Spirit
Works with the Spirit in us
Warming
Softening
Mending,
Renewing

This day
And every day I need the Spirit

This day as my body aches
And my heart hurts
And my soul staggers

At the enormity of what is happening in the world
Wars and rumors of wars
People in power abusing power
People with wealth hording wealth

This day as I watch people suffer from a lack of health care
And go hungry
And sleep on the street

And watch those who could help
Refuse to help

I need the Spirit
I need Love moving within me
Doing what only Love can do

Warming
Softening
Mending,
Renewing

And moving me to sing
And live
The Sacred song of Love
