Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

In the same boat

Yesterday those of us participating in the meditation and psychotherapy workshop walked slowly behind Thich Nhat Hanh into the Boston Public Gardens.  He sat on the grass and we gathered around him for a “sitting meditation”.   He did not say a word.  He pointed to a woman in front of him, and beckoned for her to join him up front.  He had her hold out her hand, and placed a metal bowl, not large, but somewhat heavy, in her out stretched hand.  She was scared, and her hand trembled.  So he reached out and put his hand under hers, then beckoned another person, and put her hand under his, and then called forth one of the monks from his community, and soon 4 hands, together, held the cup.

This is how it must be
We are in this life
In this world together

We are interconnected
we share the Sacred

when one hurts
all hurt
when one is afraid
we are all affected

we are in a boat together
If the boat sinks
 we all go down

The only way we make it through
Is if we do it
together
