I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Spiritual Revolution
Love your neighbor as yourself...
we have excused ourselves by saying that it is an ideal after all,
and very difficult to attain, and we can only hope to
approximate it.
The difficulty is that this exhortation flies in the face of everything
our culture encourages and that our worldview sees.....

Oh
My
God
Oh my God
we are so screwed up
we live in a world where domination
is what it is all about
We have to win
control
yes
dominate
we have chosen to believe
that it is all about "power over" others
but Lord
when we get power over others
we generally abuse our power
we deprive others
women
minorities
people who are not "like us"
of rights
and respect
we become greedy and self serving
you know us so well Lord
that is why you commanded
not requested
not suggested
but commanded
that we love one another
you ask Lord
that we participate in a Spiritual Revolution
as I sit here in a place
where power is everything
(Washington DC)
and as I look at a building (the Capital) that
once represented freedom and hope
and now represents "power over"
and repression and oppression
and
"I've got mine, screw you"
I ask
that you forgive us all
for those moments
when
it
is
all
about
"me"
