Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

As the World Turns

“Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves - slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh

the day awaits
soon the inky darkness
will begin to fade

the day awaits
there are songs to sing
sermons to preach
articles to write
light bulbs to be changed
trees and pastures to be watered
people to support
meetings to attend

it is easy
to let the tyranny of the urgency win
to sit restless and anxious

to drink my coffee in a couple of gulps
while I type away on my computer
check my phone
listen to the new on the TV
think about the day

Ah

I don’t simply rush into the future
I run
trip
and roll down the hill into the future

lying ultimately (at the end of the day)
battered and bruised and wondering
“what the hell just happened!”

Ah
Breathe
Sip
Breathe
Sip
“The oxen are slow but the earth is patient”
Sip
Breathe
As the world gently
turns
