Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Finding Religion

The source of the word religion, the Latin religio, is to “bind back.  Religion is meant to bind us back to the Creator, not to bind us internally with knots of fear, anxiety, and prejudice.  Spiritual, with its root in spirit, or breath, refers to the source of life.

what ever happened to religion?
what ever happened to God?

religion, with all its texts, and tomes
its rituals and doctrines
was meant to help us find our way

to Sacred Presence

but something went terribly wrong

God became buried beneath the rubble
of structures
crumbling
falling
eroding

and bearing us down
as they fell

and we have been left with cultural norms instead of gospel
a God of our creation instead of a creator God
judgment instead of grace
exclusion rather than inclusion
fear rather than joy

with a God of our own making

may the fresh wind of the Spirit
blow through the ruins
may the tears of God water the parched earth
and may

love blossom
and the Sacred
dwell in the verdant garden of our souls
