Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Change is in the air

Green to gold
dry land fed by fall rain
crisp mornings
gently warmed by
a golden sun
hovering low in the sky

change is in the air

sometimes it feels like loss, Lord
as the leaves fall
and green turns to brown

and that stingy sun
shortens my day
leaving met in the dark
far too long

that gusting wind
which brings with it the promise
of even shorter days
and winter snow
wouldn't it be nice to jump from fall to spring?

and yet
sometimes
we need the winter

the times of darkness
of rest
of quietude
cold stillness
which oddly
brings with it
the promise of newness
