Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Be the Noise

“There is a community of the spirit.
Join it, and feel the delight
of and being the noise.
Drink all your passion,
and be a disgrace.
Close both eyes
to see with the other eye”
― Rumi

I belong
To the community of those who live in their heads
we think we think we think
and heads are full
of past and present
of philosophers and so called theologians

we ponder
we ruminate

we stand in a room full of people
and are standing somewhere behind our own eyes
judging (mostly ourselves)
seeing if we measure up
analyzing our place in the room
or if we even have a place in the room

we see people connecting
and decide
all too often, that we don’t belong
we are not “in”

its an odd place
that often creates and becomes its own reality

Lord help us to live
to be in the room
on the street
to be the noise
to drink in the gifts of conversation
and acceptance that come our way
with passion

help us to close our eyes
and see with the other eye
the eye of the Spirit
of your love

and know that in that moment
that place
with those people
we are exactly where we were meant to be
