Dear Lord

The philosophers

And politicians

And yes, especially the ministers….

Going into their heads and try to decide

What the world needs

They rattle ideology around

Like dice in a Yatzhee cup

I am not sure Lord

That I have noticed ideology doing anybody any good

At least not lately

What you ask us to do

Is go to the heart

Open it wide

So that you might wander in

And sit on the couch in the living room of the soul

And talk to us of love

And life

And set our heart on fire

With a passion for you and others

And then

Go out there

Into the world

And live!

With passion

And serve

And give

And yes, do our jobs

And engage in our relationships

With passion

You want us to live Lord

You want us to experience life

not just go through the motions
