Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Get off the cross

Work when there is work to do.
Rest when you are tired.
One thing done in peace will mostly likely
Be better than ten things done in panic….

I am not a hero if I deny rest; I am only tired

God
we think of Jesus as the suffering servant
who went through so much
to bring good to the world

O God, sometimes we may think of ourselves the same way
The harried
Busy ones

Who must who must who must
Rush from place to place
From task to task

Calming
Helping rescuing

we hoist ourselves on crosses of our own making
thinking only we
can save the world  (ok, not really, but you know what I mean)

and end up scattered and fragmented
unable to give ourselves fully
to the person in front of us

unable to do the one thing well
unable to be truly present

Lord, teach us to get off the cross
we need the wood
