Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Veni Creator Spiritus

"The presence and action of the Spirit are the grace of God who is always free." The Spirit cannot be domesticated in the Church or any of its offices. "Only when he is sighed, cried, and prayed for, does he become present and newly active. Veni Creator Spiritus! Come, O come, thou Spirit of Life."
From Barth for Beginners by George S. Hendry

Rick Warren says
Mark Discroll says (ok, bad example)
The confessions say
The creeds insist

God on a piece of paper
the sacred reduced to a simple formula

the Spirit
the Presence of the sacred
trapped within limited and dry
theological concepts
propounded dryly from pulpits

but we cannot domesticate the Spirit
we cannot tame the powerful presence of the Almighty

the Spirit is the fire of Sacred passion
the wind of hope
coursing through us as the deepest level
disturbing
moving
inspiring
comforting

present in our deepest sighs
our heartfelt cries

The presence of an
Untamed God
Veni Creator Spiritus
Come thou Spirit of Life
