I am a wanderer. I would say that I am a seeker, but sometimes I have no idea what I might be seeking, so I will stick with wanderer. This blog is more a public journal than anything. I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply stumble from mystery to mystery, and share my reflections along the way. Sometimes I feel burdened, and trudge. Sometimes? Well sometimes grace breaks through, and its time to dance.

Suffer the little children
it seems so simple
children need help
children need protection
they do not need to be blown apart by missiles on
beaches
they do not need to be shouted at
and reviled
by fat, hateful, complacent Americans
as they try to escape a world of violence and
death
there was no turnstile
at the feet ofJesus
he did not demand they go through “proper channels”
(by which time they might well be dead)
he just said
“come to me”
what has happened to us?
since when does our love affair with Israel count
more than children
since when does our national self-centeredness
(where would we be if it had been in place this way when our parents and
grandparents came to this country) trump the lives of children?
If we want an indicator that our country is in
trouble
Just these two issues say it all
More that birth-control fights
More than arguments over guns
Because these two situations show our heart
Or lack
Thereof
Jesus forgive us
You made it pretty clear
We are to take care of the weak
The vulnerable
The poor
The hurting
The children
And we are taking care (we think)
Of ourselves
Forgive us
And change our hearts
