Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

A streaming beauty

If you want peace and purity, tear

away your coverings.  This is the purpose of emotion, to
let a streaming beauty

flow through you.  Call it spirit, elixir, or the original
agreement between yourself

and God.  Opening into that gives peace, a song of being
empty, pure silence.

ah ego
crust of the soul

we construct it so carefully

out of such raw and gross material
our roles and  possessions
our successes and failures
our strengths, and yes,
our liabilities too
even our body shape

others help weave the fabric
our families
our culture and race
our nation
our faith

The ego has its uses, to be sure
We use the ego to give us status, and stability
and security

The ego is our armor that protects us from others.
It is a surface identity we can hide behind,
shielding our vulnerable self.

But spiritually the ego is a big problem
Because the ego likes to be in control
It likes to protect itself
It likes things to stay the same
It will do anything to avoid discomfort and change
It will do anything to build itself up

anything, even hurting others, diminishing others
even avoiding true self awareness
even blocking change and transformation

if we want transformation
transfiguration

we must  tear
away our coverings.

we must let Spirit flow
a streaming beauty

opening that singular place
that sacred space

until emptied we are filled
and out of an empty, pure silence

a song of love
rises
