Welcome

Primitive religion is not believed, it is danced!

Arthur Darby Nock

Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
And only he who sees takes off his shoes;
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.

Sacred Magic

Often it is the most ordinary, miraculous events of our daily lives defy our most sophisticated measurements, our most eloquent explanations, our educated knowings.

Why love? Why illness, why healing? Why grace, birth and death, beauty, color, music, kindness - all moments of mysterious ripenings of life, and time. Why does one portal open, and another simply close? What in us gives birth to the unimaginably astonishing? How do we refuse, hinder, obstruct the emergent miraculous, the ache of the sacred in human events?

do you believe in magic?

do you believe there are things we just cannot explain
no matter how hard we try?

so many things in this life
defy explanation

we try to make everything fit
our pathetic little formulas

this happens because of that
cause and effect

nice
and
clean

but there is so much we cannot explain
there is
magic

a sunrise
a baby’s smile

there are those moments when we know
we have not been treated
the way we deserve
(grace)

there is love
unearned
just given

Ah, this is the greatest magic
love
God’s love
surprising, fresh
new every morning

ours for the receiving
the experiencing

ours for the rejecting
the hindering

“the emergent miraculous, the ache of the sacred”

Sacred Presence
Sacred Magic

yes
I do
believe
