In this world

where the biggest egos win

and where those

who think only of themselves become

“rich” and powerful

There is a poverty of soul

there is an emptiness reflected

in the need to oppress

to lie and manipulate

in the need for excessive wealth

and houses and chairs gilded with gold

it is an old secret

that letting go of our egos

enough

just enough

for Sacred Presence to trickle through our defenses

can open us up to hope

and joy

and peace

and above all love

That it is in dying to the self

That allows us to really settle into a life

that is truly worth the living

as my son so eloquently put it the other day

it is what it is

relax

and don’t be an asshole!

This day trying taking a deep breath (or 4 or 5)

Slow down

Look around you

Sit in silence (no Christmas music please)

Let go of your agenda

Your perceived needs

Your fears, your bitterness

Let go of your “self”

Die to Ego, be born to Sacred

Let Sacred waken in your soul,

Let your true self come awake
